that taking a step
backward after taking
a step forward is
not a disaster,
it's more like a cha cha!
Strictly Dancing With Lisa offers a range of adult dance and dance fitness classes across West Sussex.
You can learn different styles in the Dance Class or keep fit with Dance Fit (moderate intensity) or FitSteps (moderate to higher intensity).
FitSteps brings the Ballroom and Latin dance styles into a fitness class. However, all of my other classes incorporate a much greater variety of dance styles, which you won’t get in many other places, such as Musical Theatre, Charleston, Disco, Bollywood, Swing, Salsa and Latin to name just some. In the Dance Fit class you’ll cover several styles in one session, but the Dance Class provides you with the opportunity to learn one routine/style a week and the style will vary from week to week.
Please note I don't offer classes focusing on one style only ie Salsa. None of the classes involve partner dancing either, as you learn in lines.
My ethos has always been about providing fun friendly classes in a relaxed atmosphere. I pride myself on knowing everyone’s name and I’m tested weekly! Dancing is such a great form of exercise for the brain and the body! It’s for anyone who wants to dance, even if you’re a beginner and there’s no age limit.
There are also Workshops on offer at weekends periodically throughout the year, which are great for people not available during the week or if you prefer the idea of a longer session providing more time to learn a routine.
Strictly Dancing With Lisa really is more than just a dance class though, as I organise social events too, such as theatre trips and parties. So why not come and join in the fun!
"Thank you for the fun and energy you put into the classes all year, I really love the variety of dancing and never want the class to end! I think everyone appreciates the amount of hard work you put into the classes, you are an inspiration to us all!"
"I have been dancing with Lisa for over a year now and have loved every minute. Different routines each week all explained in simple steps. Disco, Jive, Salsa, Swing, Rumba, Cha Cha even Bollywood. You name it we've done it or at least attempted it and had enormous fun and lots of laughs along the way. Anyone can come along and everyone is made to feel welcome. With all the dance moves I've learned with Lisa I am now one of the first on the dance floor at parties!
"I love my dance classes with Lisa, she makes them so enjoyable with her warm, upbeat personality and great music. Every week they leave me feeling uplifted and energised."

“It's a 10 from me!"
"FitSteps is the best way I’ve ever found to do aerobic exercise without getting bored. The dancing is great but it really comes down to Lisa who is endlessly patient, a great teacher and most of all she makes it FUN!”

Classes WILL CONTINUE during the Autumn Term in COVID SECURE VENUES where SAFETY MEASURES have been put into place. Organised exercise classes are STILL EXEMPT from the LATEST RESTRICTIONS regarding groups of more than 6 people and therefore may continue. But, please make sure you read the guidelines for your individual class/venue before attending (go to Class Listings above). Thank you.
Autumn 2 classes will follow on from Autumn 1 without a break and I anticipate virtually all classes being full. Any of my regulars who have not yet returned to classes in the autumn need to sign-up by Thursday 8th October to be considered for class allocation - no drop-ins allowed - all spaces will be allocated. New people can contact me to go onto the waiting list for classes that interest them.
